The Dunkeld Cross Slab

Ordnance Survey Map Reference NO024426

The whole slab

Close-up of the central piece of the cross

This rather dilapidated cross slab is housed in the Chapter House Museum of Dunkeld Cathedral. It was originally from the 9th century monastery nearby, and had a chequered history, having been re-used as a gravestone at one point. Heavily weathered, there is little exciting about it, unfortunately, though at least it is now safe from further abuse.
